Alyson

Alyson has over 22 years experience working as a counselor in a Psychiatric setting. It is her passion and unique ability to get to the heart of the matter. She belives the process of counseling can assist in uncovering  core issues and through this liberate oneself from patterns that have been hindering growth for years. She uses a variety of techniques on both a psycho therapeutic and energetic level to to facilitate connection to self in a more meaningful way and therefore connection with others on a deeper more sustaining level.

In her practice she has developed a holistic view. The interconnectdness of the mind, body and soul and how we can retrieve messages from all of these areas to help guide our lives in a direction that uplifts and assists us in reaching our full potential. She has worked with clients suffering from anxiety, depression, poor self esteem, unresolved anger, grief and HIV related issues. She has also worked with couples and assisted them in deepening their intimacy, resolving conflict and developing a joint vision of the couple. She is also a highly skilled group therapist and has designed material for groups on depression, anger, self estem, communication, eating disorders and grief.
